Sander van der Meer

I am Sander van der Meer, a utility player from the Netherlands who lives in Amsterdam and trains at the Talent Team NL center. I am athletic with a smooth fielding technique and who hits for contact. This winter I will be working on generating more power. I have strong thinking skills in the field and I am well versed and competitive in the game. As a team player I am always eager to learn something new. I am also very versatile on the field because I play infield and outfield. Off the field I am a cheerful person with a lot of perseverance and discipline. I am looking for a college that values ​​hard work, discipline, and good team spirit.

Bio

On the age of six I started playing baseball in my hometown of Zoetermeer. After playing at Rotterdam Neptunus, I was selected to play at Rotterdam Unicorns academic where I played and trained for 4 years. After then I  participated in the selection of the Talent Team NL, which is a top sports program of the KNBSB in collaboration with the NOC/NSF (Dutch Olympic Organization). This will be my second year at the Talent Team NL center in Amsterdam where I’ve been living on my own and training for the past 2 years. Last year I played at Amsterdam Pirates on the development team, which participated in the second highest national level. This year I am going to play for Kinheim in the highest national league in the Netherlands. I speak Dutch and English. Right now I am taking an A1 Spanish language course to improve my Spanish.
